At the annual festivity of farmers and horse breeders in Austur-Húnavatnssýsla the Steinnesfarm was awarded "The Breeding farm of the Year 2010"
by the horse breeders association in Austur - Húnavatnssýsla. The breeder Magnús Jósefsson also received awards for the highest judged breeding horses in five and six year
old stallions as well as for five year old mares.
The prize stallions are Tjaldur frá Steinnesi with 8,00 and Kiljan frá Steinnesi with 8,71 or 8,78 with the calculated correction for age. The Horse Breeders Association had earlier awarded Kiljan as the highest judged breeding horse of the year in Iceland. Kiljan is bred out of Klettur frá Hvammi and Kylja frá Steinnesi and owned by Halldór Þorvaldsson, Elías Árnason and Ingolf Nordal. The Prize winning mare was Ólga frá Steinnesi with 8,22. Her father is Gammur frá Steinnesi and her mother Hnota frá Steinnesi.
